Saw tooth border

image

I like to make borders ahead of time and have rolls of them to choose from. Here’s a sawtooth border i’ m in the midst of. I had cut the colored squares from scraps and put them on the red to make sure i liked them together.  I’ve since cut the red pieces and sewed it all.

Ugly no more

I always wonder if i really need a before picture when it is a common ugly piece. In this case a brown Formica and particle board sewing table from the 1970s. I know my mom had one and it seemed like everyone else’s mom had one, too.

This one had a slightly rough surface so the decision to paint came easier.  I use the primer meant for plastic when i paint laminate. It holds up reasonably well i think. Huge improvement. I’m envisioning this as a permanently set up table for friends to set their machines up on. Wann come over and sew?

Miss monkey

Today after work i made miss monkee out of socks from the dollar store. Does everyone but me know that it is easier to sew and then cut when making sock monkeys?
